2022 Reverse - Shuttlers Brand Edition

2022 Reverse - Shuttlers Brand Edition

If we are to describe this year in one word, it would be Growth. 2021 ended for us on such a high note with the raise of $1.6 million in seed funding. We took on 2022 with such enthusiasm, hope and an almost fool-proof strategy to achieve our clearly defined goals, and boy, what a year it has been! We not only smashed most of our audacious goals, but we also evolved as a brand, strengthened our relationship with our esteemed customers and other stakeholders in our ecosystem, and took away some crucial learnings that we will leverage to set ourselves up for success in the year 2023.

We are delighted to let you into our world and share a summary of various important metrics with you in this blog, but first, we will like to say Thank You! Thank you to the organizations who trust us to manage their employees’ daily commute, to individual riders who rely on us to cater to their daily transportation needs, and to our bus partners who provide infrastructural support to make our day-to-day operations as seamless as possible. To brands that have collaborated with us in various capacities in 2022, we are thankful for the opportunity. To our esteemed investors who saw the vision and joined us to run with it, we are thankful. Most importantly, to every member of the Shuttlers team, you are the real MVP! Because of the support of all our internal and external stakeholders, we are able to redefine transportation in metropolitan cities across Africa. You are the engine that drives our hustle!

At this juncture, let’s step on the brakes and put things in reverse for a minute as we present the 2022 Reverse – Shuttlers Brand Edition! As you know, we launched the Reverse campaign about two weeks ago, and it’s been a hit. The campaign summarized our users’ year with us, from the number of trips taken to the most frequented routes and even the number of CO2 emissions saved. If you haven’t checked it out yet, please click here to do so, and don’t forget the share it on your social media pages. Here’s our brand-focused take on Reverse. Press play!

-In 2022, we fulfilled over 900,000 trips

-Plied over 300 routes across over 350 itineraries

-Operated a fleet of over 300 vehicles

-Covered over 21,393,334 kilometers-Saved over 19.8 million pounds in CO₂ emissions

There were so many big wins during the year and the three that we are particularly proud of and would love to highlight are first, the launch of our first-ever brand campaign commercial in Q1 2022. Second, our CEO and Co-founder, Damilola Olokesusi was nominated as eTrade for Women Advocate for Anglophone Africa 2022/2023 – read about it here. And third, in December, we executed the first physical women empowerment event under our Shemoves Initiative, in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The event was themed Women Founders Showcase and African Night. Get excerpts from the event here, and see the photos below.

Thank you for coming with us on this adventurous ride. Now sit back and enjoy the 2023 cruise. We’ve got you!
